Make the switch.
Once you know what you need to do to start or switch your direct deposit, it's time to get started.
- Initiate with your employer. Complete any forms or online process with your employer to reroute your pay to your Lake Trust account. Do the same for any other direct deposits that need to be moved.
- Update your account information where necessary. Arrange for your automated debits and withdrawals to be made from your Lake Trust account. And canceled from your old account.
- Leave funds to cover payments. Leave enough money in your old account to cover any updated payments or checks that haven't cleared to avoid any fees.
Follow-up.
Once you've confirmed that your direct deposit into your Lake Trust account was successful, you're almost done.
- Transfer any remaining funds from your old account to your Lake Trust account.
- After transferring the remaining funds, close your old account and get written confirmation that the account is now closed.
